The "Lock-Jockey" door-opening tool was developed to assist authorized individuals in gaining access to secured hotel and motel suites in emergency situations. Police Officers, Firefighters, and Paramedics have often had their efforts thwarted by the secondary security latches mounted inside these types of doorways. Typically these first responders arrive and acquire an access key from the front desk or manager, but find that they are still unable to enter a room because the inside security latch has been employed. The most common answer to this problem has been to use bolt cutters on the latch, or to either kick or pry the door open. In the majority of these cases, a significant amount of damage is the result. The "Lock-Jockey" tool renders this situation a problem of the past. With a room access key and the "Lock - Jockey" in hand, these first responders can now enter these rooms with ease in a matter of seconds; and in a life-threatening emergency every second counts.

   The "Lock-Jockey" tool can also be utilized by Hotel Management or Security Personnel in a variety of other applications such as when a child inadvertently locks themselves in a room, or when a guest departs through an adjoining room leaving management locked out.
